PLAYING RULES - SUMMARY

Before the Game

  1. Games will not commence until both teams have paid their full game fees ($55 per team plus any outstanding fees).
  2. Teams with (5) registered players on court cannot use any "fill-in" players! Must play with (5) players.
  3. Teams with (4) registered players may only use one "fill-in" player. “Fill-in” players can only come from the same grade or from a lower grade. It is best to confirm with Referee prior to the game! (Premier League or A-Grade players cannot fill-in for lower grades. Premier League or A-grade players playing as a permanent player in a lower grade cannot attack or hit aggressivley).
  4. Each player is required to wear a matching coloured top by Round (4) of the season.  Any player not in uniform from Round (4) will penalise the team (2) points per player per set (awarded to the opposition).
  5. Teams will lose (1) point per minute to the opposition for any late starts. Teams have a maximum of 15 minutes from the 45-minute mark to start the game thereafter deemed as a forfeit 3-0 (25-0, 25-0, 25-0)

    During the Game
  6. Only the Team Captain may approach a Referee and only to clarify a ruling, but NOT to dispute it in any way.  No other player may approach a Referee at any stage.  Yellow and Red cards will be enforced.
  7. Teams may substitute players freely during the game however NO substitutions permitted in the last 5-minutes of the game. (LIBERO system cannot be used in our competition)
  8. There are two TIME-OUTS permitted at 30-seconds each, per team, per set.  No TIME-OUTS permitted in the last 5-minutes of game time!

    After the Game
  9. Team Captains are responsible for checking, confirming & signing scoresheets post-match. (This avoids any potential disputes about final scores or if players have played enough games to qualify for the finals).
  10. To qualify for the finals a player must play at least 8 games. (BYE’s included)
  11. New teams must play 50% of the season to qualify for the finals.
